is basically what we're seeing right now. incredibly tight race that we are looking to florida, virginia, ohio, all of the state's right now they're too close to call for any indication of which way this is going to break. there has been an awful lot of confidence among the obama folks of the last few days, especially predicting a wind that only in the electoral college, but the popular vote. predicting it to go the other way. that confidence, they say, all comes from the fact that they had been seeing consistent leads in polls throughout the battle ground states, many of them throughout the country and certainly enough, they said, to take over the top of this. still and wait and see mode. a sense of confidence that you would possibly get from any type of candidate at this point in a race that is this close. and so well there is confidence to make it is to be expected that he would not hear anything else out of the obama campaign this early in such a close race. neil: okay. thank you. one of the state's we will be keeping a close eye on. keep in mind, nevada is interesting for a number of reas

to florida with melissa francis. melissa: good evening, neil. we are at the processing center. those are absentee ballots that they are taking out right now. and you can see them running through the machines over there. trying to get a count as we near the end in hillsborough county. right now we had only one precinct left that hasn't reported and been counted. 346 precincts in of 347. barack obama is in the lead, 52% to 42%. 42,000 votes in this area and we are just waiting for the last precinct to come in. hillsboro is one of those counties that it is a swing county in a swing state. they say that it has accurately predicted who is going to be president back to president reagan except for one election. it is definitely one to watch. we are almost at the finish line here. neil: thank you very much. in florida, that is what is going on. michael brown, what do you think? to i think it is a tough path for mitt romney to find 270 electoral votes. i think the league will be sustained in north carolina, but he is behind the popular vote as it's coming in florida. i think there's some poss

, florida, reaching out and connecting with voters. this is something typically you have seen in years past relaxed on election day. vice president joe biden in ohio, president obama certainly doing his bid talking about campaign folks. cheryl: thank you. we now have gerri willis with governor romney. the governor on the campaign trail today. >> he absolutely has been. we have been calling folks in their rolodex. we're looking at pennsylvania, states that maybe in play. past the senatorial campaign looking at the numbers, early voting trends very interesting. there is a net eight percentage points more, the early ballots being cast over democrats. last time around they were dead even. people who are registered republican voters 8% more voting early than democrats. we don't know what their votes are currency cannot answer the question concretely, but it would seem early voting at least in that state could be going republican, which would be a big surprise. we are keeping an eye on all these states talking across the board to find out what might happen next and over my shoulder you get a sens

. in ohio they're doing a fantastic job. florida looks like a tremendous job. north carolina, virginia. wisconnin, we know what kind of job they're capable of doing because we saw it in the scott walker gubernatorial race earlier this year. same people, same fountain to -- same phone centers. the other battleground states we are seeing as well. one of the reasons the republicans are going into pennsylvania, the state party chairman has done a terrific job with a massive ground game in the state of pennsylvania, same in michigan. the state republican chairman, 23 phone centers operating, humming and a presidential election year level in a state that has not drawn until recently much advertisement. now some of the outside groups are moving in, including crossroads, a group i am associated with. and part of the reason, looking at people like show stack in michigan and what the michigan gop has done and probably some of pennsylvania, and the republicans are pounding away on the ground game. we will see how well it does on election day. lou: real quickly, the economy, jobs, is that going to

out in florida this morning. he's making two stops here in virginia. this is his second one. then we go on to ohio and then he finishes up tonight in new hampshire with a victory concert with kid rock. but we have learned that governor romney will now actually be campaigning tomorrow on election day. this is not totally unprecedented. he's going to go to the cleveland area and the pittsburgh area, back to ohio, and of course to the key battleground state now of pennsylvania. in more get out the vote events. he's not going to be really having campaign type rallies in those states. but turnout is now critical to the romney campaign. governor romney wants to make sure that he gets every supporter out to vote tomorrow. this is not unprecedented. governor -- excuse me, then senator obama when he was running for president, campaigned on election day in indiana in 2008. liz, back to you, from the romney bus. liz: from the bus, which -- you know, it doesn't surprise me, but it is nice to know even mitt romney's bus has bad upholstered seats. thank you very much, peter. adam shapiro in the we
